First, let’s start with losing fat. Now, this won’t be easy and I know – this will be hard to believe. This will go against everything that you have grown up with throughout your whole life. Im talking about that old mentally “If you want to lose weight, “You eat lots of vegetables, you eat like a bird… With very little protein in your daily food consumption.” And Wala you’re 20 pounds lighter! (Ha! If it was only this easy)
Now, If you do the above which I DO NOT recommend. You will be skinny fat! Yes, you will lose weight but you’re going to be flabby and I know from experience that it does not work. For many years I did this, only to find myself Skinny Fat! But in my last 10 years I’ve found the perfect formula!
And lets face it, you want to know how you can look 10 years younger, live a healthy life without fitness becoming overwhelming, as your daily responsibilities tax you. I have 20 years experience in this field, this is WHY I can tell you that eating more protein is the best thing that you can do to change your body image and lose fat.
Okay, I know I’m going to get a lot of ladies tell me “Well you know, I don’t want to build muscle, I don’t want to get bulky, I just want to tone up.” That’s great! It’s great to tone up but toning requires building muscle. That is the definition of toning – You cannot tone the muscle you have to build the muscle with adequate protein, 8 glasses of water and at least 30 mintues strength training a day.
Which brings me to building muscle. Building muscle is not easy, to gain a pound of muscle is hard work. Now, to gain fat you could do that super fast, if you combine carbs and sugar. If you haven’t read my first two blogs Taking the First Steps & Sugar be Gone, then read up!…. The only carbs you should be eating, should be complex carbs, complex carbs are slow-digesting carbs.
If you were blessed with “Skinny” genetics where you can eat all the carbs you want and never gain weight. (Body type is long and narrow) Then, the above is not for you and you will need carbs in your daily consumption of food. So, which carbs are good for this type of body to build muscle?

Not bad right?! But I wanted to feel great with my bikini on, not just keep pretending. It was time to get to work!
